Introduction to Trainer Skills (City and Guilds)
This 2-day training programme is designed to provide those who are new to training, or for people who would like to develop their trainer skills, as well as gaining confidence in talking to others. You will learn about how to apply a structured approach when developing and delivering training sessions, so that your audience gets the most out of the training you plan to offer. Delegates are required to sit a quiz, as well as deliver a short training session to their peers on the programme.

Level 3 Award in Education and Training (City and Guilds) - Formerly PTLLS
The Award in Education and Training is a short course (4 or 5 days) designed to provide fundamental training skills. This will enable those aspiring to become a trainer or those already carrying out a training role to meet the varying needs of their learners they may be supporting. The focus is on delivering the qualification in an engaging, relevant and fun way, providing best practice, hints and tips that participants can take away and apply in their own training environment. Participants will complete coursework through written work, discussion, reflective practice and also training delivery. You do not need to be in a training role to complete this qualification.

Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (City and Guilds) - Formerly CTLLS
This qualification is aimed at those working, or looking to work, in a teaching or training within the workplace or post-compulsory education sector. This qualification will prepare you for a successful career as a teacher in your specialist subject providing theoretical and practical knowledge, understanding and skills to design and deliver engaging and inclusive training sessions. 30 hours of training practice is required to be evidenced during the completion of this qualification which can through voluntary means, or as part of the trainer’s job role.

Learning and Development Qualifications (City and Guilds)
This suite of programmes are designed for practitioners who want a more experiential approach in relation to the workplace where training takes place. The qualifications are more practically based, therefore focus more on the training environment and developing skills to train staff and learners from a real working perspective.

Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Learning and Development (City and Guilds)
The one unit qualification focuses on the knowledge and understanding of the learning and development cycle and other key principles. This provides an ideal foundation for any one who is new to learning and development and wants a short introduction, without having to commit to a long-term qualification, unless it is a requirement from the organisation, or of your job role.

Level 2 Award in Facilitating Learning and Development (City and Guilds)
This two unit qualification requires the same knowledge and understanding unit as the Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Learning and Development. The additional unit focuses on either training groups or individuals dependent on what your training role requires you to do.

Level 3 Certificate in Learning and Development (City and Guilds)
This qualification requires the practitioner to demonstrate their competence in training across several elements of the learning and development cycle. There are a choice of units that can be selected to enable a personalised learning approach to meet specific delegate needs. Optional units include for example: learning needs analysis, working with both groups and individuals, planning learning and development sessions and resources, assessing learners, providing information and advice to learners and employers, supporting learners through the learning and development process and engaging with employers.

Level 4 Award in Learning and Development
This qualification includes a six credit mandatory knowledge unit on the principles, theories and practices of learning and development and a range of other practice-based units. This qualification is designed for People who wish to get a ‘grounding’ in learning and development at a higher level, as they wish to become advanced practitioners in the future, as well as those who wish to demonstrate continuing professional development at this level in either learning and development or the management of learning and development provision.

Level 4 Diploma in Learning and Development
This qualification can be achieved through two different routes: one for the advanced learning and development practitioner, and one for those involved in managing learning and development provision.
This qualification is targeted at Practitioners with relatively complex skills and significant autonomy who work across several, if not all, phases of the Learning and Development cycle, as well as those who manage Learning and Development provision at an operational level.
